I did it my daughter and I turned the critter over in the yard, we slid it off the trailer and once on the ground we turned it over no problems now I can sand and fill scratches and give it a good wet sanding with 1500 grit.

Easy bottom cleaning/waxing

Congratulations! These are wonderfully easy boats to care for... As long as we are lucky enough to avoid those cracks that lot's of people post about getting!

Turtling !

I'm sorry, "trutling" the boat on the ground does not qualify you as a member in the "turtle Club"....... Sounds like you did a good job, I have some small scratches below the water line area that I would like to fill and sand out too, I keep putting it off because its to hard to sit or lay under the boat/trailer and work on it. I might study your suggestions a lttle bit more, sounds pretty good way to work on her.

Ground turtle

worked well only thing to be concerned about is the metal loops (whatever they are called). I wet the ground pretty good before I turned it over so those loop where the shrouds or sidestays hook to sank easily into the ground.

Getting the 170 back on the trailer

How difficult is it to right the 170 and return it to the trailer?

Ground turtle

Its not that hard with 2 people. just need to watch the bow or the boat so it dont scrap on the back of the trailer as it comes up, I lifted the tonge of the trailer way up in the air and used the winch to winch it back on and the boat was sitting on 3 mil plastic so 1 it wouldnt scratch and 2 it would slide easily. Once the boat came up on 1st set of bunks the tonge came down and it winched up nicely.
