Given most of us have bent part of the shroud turnbuckle assembly at some time during mast raising, I am looking for help in identifying the threaded part which screws into the turnbuckle body and has a "T" at the end. Not sure what you call it. I think the threads MAY be different for port vs starboard shrouds, but am not sure. Any help with a part number at Boat US or West Marine or other website supplier would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- Ron

Toggle end

Hi Ron, How are you-hoped you'd visit Pepin sometime this summer. What I have picked up every other year or so,as most of the H26 owners do,is the "toggle end" of the turnbuckle and I believe the threads are 3/8". I've gotten them at the dealer-you know who that is- and boatus

Preventing bent "T" bolts

To prevent bending those T bolts on the shrouds try this. Cut a long narrow triangle one foot by two inches out of an inner tube. Hold the slack T bolt up and feed the pointy end of the triangle through the space between the T bolt head and the chain plate U bolt. Pull it through as far as you can stretching the inner tube triangle as you pull. This forms a tight plug which will hold the shroud in a vertical position. Trim off the excess on both ends. Works great! No more bent T bolts!

West Marine--Page 914...

lower left corner of the page. 5/16" left-hand thread toggles. Hunter has them too-- for 2 bucks less.
