Tuning up an outboard

I am a new boat owner and I looking for some advice on tuning up an outboard. The outboard is a Johnson 4 HP that was built in 1984. Does anyone have a manual for this engine or can I buy a basic engine repair book to do the job.

Try Amazon, or even your local bookstore

Any large book store will be able to get you the book you need. If you live near the water they may even stock come of them. Ask for the Clymer manual appropriate for your engine. I was able to get a Clymer for my 4hp Mariner at Borders. Justin - O'day Owner's Web
