Can anyone ffer e some advice on tuning the standing rigging for my '85 Hunter 25.5. What is the appropriate tension for the headstay/backstay and shrouds? What is the preferable method/tool for tuning? Thanks.
I would assume that the tension is standard 20% of breaking strength. CHeck the diameter of the wire then find out from hunter the breaking strength. I use a loos gauge. It definitly made the boat handle much better. Hope this helps.
I agree with Dave, use a loos guage, with the directions included. I've also linked the manual for the 26.5, which will give you the procedure. Tuning will make a BIG difference on weather helm, and the ability to point high.
