We ahve a 1995 29.5 Hunter with a fractionla rig so no back stay. Does anyone know the purpose of each of the stays? There are the diamonds along the mast, the main stay, and another side stay from the spreader/mast connection. I'm trying to figure which gives rake, which tunes the mast port-starboard (is that longitudinal?) and if we need to tighten the forestay since there is a roller furling system. Tahnks for your help! Tuning

Call or write Hunter directly for a copy of the owners manual, it has great information on all the systems factory installed, including the tuning of the rig. Basically the diamonds control pre-bend, which should be around 4", and the mains control rake and tension. The 295 rig is supposed to be very tight, but get the directions from the manual as it's a process you want to do correctly. Good luck.
