First determine the type and size of your wires. More than likely it is 1 X 19 strand stailnless wire. The diameter could be 3/16 " but you need to size it correctly. The way tension is calculated is based on the breaking strength of the wire. For example the 1 X 19, 3/16" wire is rated at 4,700 lbs. The proper rig tension is between 10% and 15% of the breaking strength. In this example it would be around 500 lbs. To measure the tension of the wire you will need a LOOS Gauge. The tool comes for different sizes of wire. Approx. $95. You could tune the rigging without the benefit of a Loos gauge but the process is cumbersome to ensure you end with adequate tensioning and a straight mast.
