Tuning my hunter 386

I just got my 2004 Hunter 386 and her mast was derigged to transport her. Can anyone give me some guidance on how best to rig her. I have placed the mast aft side up on horse, spreaders are on but I cannot connect the lower diamonds to the mast as there appears to be to much tension. I have a furling mast. Thanks

On page 52 and 53 it has the instructions for tuning the B&R rig.

In simple terms you need to loosen the diagonals that go from the mast to the spreader tip so that the turn buckle is just engaged. Then you can do the adjustments that are outlined in the instructions. You will have to go up to the lower spreader to make the final adjustment when the mast is stepped.
