We were sailing out of Noank on 7/22 just as a huge, white 4 masted tall ship was entering the harbor. She seemed well over 200' long. Quite spectacular especially at a stones throw away. I couldn't however ID her then and can't find any schedule of events or anything to give a clue. Anybody from the area (or anywhere else for that matter) know who she was? Much, much larger than the "local" tall ships. And of course I didn't have my camera.

I saw it too

I saw it heading into Great Salt Pond on Block too. In fact we were sort of racing him to the entrance. I couldn't make out any identification, but then we weren't that close and I couldn't find my binoculars. One beautiful craft though!

it's the schooner Mystic

it's the schooner Mystic, owned and operated by Voyager Cruises out of Mystic. She's a sister vessel to the Tole Mour that sails out of California I'll have more info on her this fall at www.BostonNautical.com

I did see it docked on the mystic river next to the seaport.

The Mystic

She's also been spotted overnighting on the outskirts of the mooring field at Dutch Harbor, near Jamestown, RI. We've circled her a few times to take a closer look. The rumors I've heard are that the operators are going to offer dinner cruises, daily excursions, etc. Pretty ship!

Nope, not the Mystic

I see the Mystic sometines (and Argia all the time) and this was not her. It was 4 masted, had a shorter bow sprite and was square rigged. Great pic Seadaddler.

Four masts ye say...

Arg... was she fore-n-aft rigged or squ'r rigged. Or did she dress both ways? Arg...

Could it have been the Arabella? She has been in the area; I saw her sailing out of Sag Harbor a week or so ago. Spectacular (though only 3 masts, not 4).
