I am trying for better balance on our 34 hunter. Has anyone moved the batteries over to port side? We have three and I was wondering if anyone put them along side the water tank on port side and specifically how hard was it to restring the cables? Thanks in advance. Craig

Better Balance

Last year I move my 3 batteries in the aft port locker and I also added a compressor for my refrigerator/freezer in the same locker. This did a great job for the balance but took a lot of work for the rewiring. Yves

They Fit

We have an 84 H34. We added two batteries in the port settee. They were the 30 size battery. I left the two that charge from the engine or from a charger in the starbord lazarette. Added a second charger and perko switch for the additional batteries and ran them to the main DC connection in the panel. By selecting the perko's you can run the DC on the boat from any combination of the four batteries or all of them. Down side of this approach is that only two charge from the engine, but all charge when on shore power. Works well for us and gave us the extra power to run our refrigeration for a couple of days without recharging. If we keep the water fairly full the boat sits fairly level. Good Luck.

Battery Box

I had a battery box built for my upgraded house bank. I have close to about 400 amps worth of gels that are located under the nav station seat. The balance has been great. My starter single gel is in the starboard cockpit locker. So far so good. Gregg
