I would like some in put on a ready bag for a try sail that lives at the base of the mast. Thinking of opening at the top down to the base so it can be pulled straight up in stead of having to pull the bag off the sail. then being able to lower the sail and roll it back to the mast and zipping or using some type of closures.
Has anybody used a ready bag? always sounds good on paper. It looks like it will take up some real estate on the deck.
Thanks

The design you outline seems to make sense. Do you have a separate track or a switching system to run the trysail up on? If the lowered main's slides are piled up at the gooseneck you do not want to be taking them off the mast in 50+ knots of wind so you can get the trysail's slides onto the track. Some people run a hefty wire up the mast between two deadeyes and leave their trysail hanked on to it .

I have a separate track, I just realized I have to also drop at least one side then the other side of the stack pack. One change always seem to lead to two changes.
Thanks for the input

Not sure how big your Try-Sail is.
Blue Performance makes a Halyard Bag in 3 sizes. The large one might fit your needs.

I have it on my mast for my Halyards. Works great.

Thanks, I have two of those bags. I have not used them yet and did try to stuff my try sail in it. It was to small., but sure is a good idea for a new design for bag. Glad to hear they work for halyards, keeping the sun and weather off them long term use a good Idea.
