TRUCKING

I trucked my boat from Rhode Island to Virginia when I bought it in 2003. I can't remember who the trucking firm was, but the best thing for you to do is a google search on "sailboat transport", "boat shipping" or the like. What you should find are brokers that deal with many different trucking firms, and they will find you the best deal at no cost to you. Using this method, it cost me about $1200 to ship the boat.

Look up

Marina Seca, San Carlos, Mexico. I don't know where in the sea you're looking to go, however these guys regularly move boats out of MX to the states. This is the dry yard associated with San Carlos Marina and they are experienced at decommissioning and moving boats across the border. They usually haul to Tucson, AZ and then transfer boat to a US carrier. I'd bet most of thier return trips are empty and you might be able to get a break. Just do a search for "Marina Seca" or San Carlos Marina. dwain

Catalina 380 Seabrook, TX
Anchors Away

I shipped a Catalina 380 from Lake Pickwick in northeast MS to Seabrook last spring. I used Anchors Away because of a friend's reference. I was completely satisfied with their professionalism. While, due to circumstances beyond their control they couldn't actually ship my boat at the last minute, they arranged with another shipper to come in and "take up their slack" so that my schedule was still met. The shipper they used (I don't have his name here, it's at home), was very professional, clean, nice truck and trailer. I have heard a lot of good about Anchors Away, and from my experience, I would definitely recommend them. They have delivered a lot of boats to and from Seabrook. If interested, their number is 877-893-0737

I can highly recommend Marine Movers. About 4 yrs. ago, I bought a boat near Nashville and had it shipped to NJ. I had just bought the boat and trailer. It was not ready to go and a blizzard hit. They were very reasonable about the delay which was largely my fault. They did not charge me anything extra. I think Chris Holt was the agent I arranged things with. 1-866-428-5262 (not sure if number is current)
