Troubleshooting wind display

I have a Raymarine i60 wind instrument and display. The display will show wind direction but doesn't show the speed information. I've cycled through all of the display functions without success. I've read through the manual and troubleshooting information several times without a solution. The display always reads 0.0.

I know the masthead unit is sending the data and it's available on the network because my autopilot control head shows the windspeed as expected.

Anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting and getting the wind display showing the speed?
This boat is new to me as I purchased in December. I remember the speed indicated correctly during pre-purchase inspections.
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Could be many causes but start with the easy (read - cheap) stuff. Remove all connectors, clean and reconnect. Also check the wiring to see if anything has shorted or opened.

I can't help you, all I can do is commiserate ... My i60 doesn't function properly, either, and I can't find anything wrong with the connections. I've decided to change out all my instruments, but I would like to mount the i60 below if I can get it working. Mine functions properly occasionally, but on a very erratic basis. I can hear a very soft electronic "hum" through the instrument when it is failing. I think that my only solution may be to send it in someplace for servicing. Funny, mine functioned properly for about 2 weeks after purchasing the boat! BTW, mine typically shows wind speed but only apparent, but the direction indicator is what typically fails. I suspect that if your autopilot control is reading properly, there is not a problem with the connectors. My guess is that it a malfunction of the instrument display.

I had this exact issue once - I don't remember what resolved it, but the issue was a button setting on the i60 display head. Try cycling between True and Apparent, to start.
edit: i60 correction

Here is a pdf on testing an iTC5 and wind transducer. Pretty sure the test points for the iTC5 would be the same for a wind instrument display.
Here is an important piece of information from that document.
"Red to shield of the iTC-5 or wind instrument should read 8V DC steady. This is the masthead power supply, coming from the ST50/ST60/i60 Wind instrument or iTC-5. If I understand your initial post, this is the value which you measured 8.4VDC and this would then be considered normal. While the iTC-5 will receive 12VDC from the backbone, only 8.4VDC will be provided across its red to shield pins..."
The document goes on to explain what voltages you should see on the various connections of the transducer.

Cycling through the display settings solved the issue. Press the "display" button 3-4 time and the correct windspeed is indicated now. Thanks for the suggestions!
