Can anyone help. I have a 1980 Hunter 33 that has just started sailing to port while under power. No problem while sailing. I have not hit anything or ran a ground. Prop was replaced in Oct. at time of haulout. When I say pull to port I mean the boat will actually turn in a circle not just a little to port.

Are you sure this is new?

Hi Tom - It's common for the helm to pull to one side under way due to the prop wash. But you indicate in your post that this just started happening. If you are certain this is indeed something new, I would haul boat to see what's going on or dive on the prop. However, prop wash is something I've experienced on every boat I can remember. Best, Trevor

Hands off?

If I take my hands off the wheel my 1983 Cat 30 turns to port. I assumed it's normal.

normal

every boat i've owned has done this, even a few powerboats. i corecct it by using the pedistal wheel brake, applying just enough pressure to compensate for the pull
