TROUBLE BLEEDING A 2QM15

I ran my engine out of fuel. I had closed the valve on my fuel tank while replacing the exhaust system, and forgot to open it when I ran the motor. I was happy with my work on the exhaust, then the motor quit. I have bled the screw on top of the fuel filter, and the 3 bolts from the high pressure line that runs from the top of the fuel filter to the top of the injectors. I have been told I also need to bleed the air out of the line that runs out of the side (of the top) of the fuel filter, to the injector pump, and then the two high pressure lines that run from the injector pump to the side of each injector. Any other advice/corrections in this process will be appreciated.

Injectors bled?

My 2QM20 has always been real easy to bleed. Are you turning over the engine enough to really get the air out? I have never had to bleed anything but the valve on top of the filter and then the injectors themselves.Did you fill the primary filter(s) first? I always fill the Racor before I start. The best way to do that is to attach a bulb-hose from a small outboard tank. Open the valve on the secondary filter and squeeze the bulb a few of times. This will fill the filters and the engine will probably start without bleeding the injectors. Reattach the line from the tank and she should start right up. I carry that outboard tank with a couple gallons of diesel as a backup. Just in case I get the dreaded "crap in the pickup tube".

Brian, I had to do the same when my air intake was clogged and shut down the entire fuel system. I think Ed is right. it takes a little time but it worked for me. just bleed the filter lines as you crank the engine several times. I actually cranked it by hand several times with the compression off. Good luck.
