Tropical Storm

Any of you guys down in the Galveston, Sabine Pass area get any damage at all from that little tropical storm the blew through. From what NOAA was saying it wasn't all the bad, but I don't always believe everything NOAA says. We were coming along behind it, and got knocked around a little bit. Tony, did you get any winds, seas that were a problem for you. Hopefully all is well in Kemah.

In Dallas just this morning

we had some small gusts and some showers. It also brought some temperature relief from the 105 degree temps for the last three weeks.

Beaumont/Kemah response

I did the usual pre-storm dance. I removed the headsail, wrapped the main and took down the dodger and bimini. I really don't know what the conditions were at Kemah when the storm got there, but I live in Beaumont and I was 30 miles from the point of entry. We didn't have anything but wind & rain, and not much of either.

The eye went right over this platform, there was not much rain. It was steady, but not a heavy rain. Kinda like a spring rain, its just there. Winds on Platform barely made 45 knots and that was for a brief period. I dont think waves got more than 12 -14 for a very short time. Mostly 8-10 footers out here. I'm about 60 miles or so southwest of the mouth of the Ms. River in 2,200 feet of water.
I havent checked Kemah yet, Helen is in Vancleave, she went to a family reunion prior to the storm. It didnt look bad on the weather screen so I was not concerned enough to check. I guess , I could call the marina or Franklin. Looked to me like just a lot of thunder storms but nothing major.
