I picked up a second in class in the 39th Marina del Rey to San Diego race. Non-spinnaker Cruz. Finished in 20 hours, so I averaged about 5.5 knots which is pretty remarkable for what is usually a fairly light race. I finished (I'm told) about three hours less than the third boat in class in elapsed time. (I have not seen the results yet.) I still think my PHRF of 102 base is way low, but I may have no luck reducing it since I also picked up a second in this year's Newport to Ensenada race. Anyhow, I thought I'd tickle the race forum a bit... now off to Catalina for a week. Rick D.
