I sailed my sailboat down from Oakland last fall when I moved down here. I am looking to take her out now that the weather has gotten nicer. In the Bay Area I knew of several sources to check the weather before going out. Here, I know nothing, I was wondering if someone could give me some sources for information about sailing around this area and any suggestions as to short trips up and down the coast. Thanks, Tom

Try Fagan's Book

Tom, I suggest the classic Fagan book "The Cruising Guide to Central and Southern California: Golden Gate to Ensenada, Mexico, Including the Offshore Islands" as a first step to exploring the Southern California seas. We who live in southern California are truly blessed with one of the best cruising areas in the world. As far as marine weather is concerned, I use the US Weather Service web site... Jon Kotas
