Anybody have any experience with Trip Sailor, Sail Blogs, or any other free internet based sailing blog? I am interested in keeping some records of our sailing, and was considering at least these two. Also, I want it to be completely free. I can see where to post pictures on Sail Blogs you need to join at a paying level, but don't see that on Trip Sailor.

Are there other sailing blog sites you all would recommend?

Thanks!

I use www.blogger.com It isn't sailing, but it it is free and easy to use. Under my signature, you can see my two blogs.

I originally used Sailblogs for my first boat. You can post 1 picture with each post and upload video, all under the free part. For my current boat, I switched to Blogger (blogspot), which is a google site and also free. It allows me pictures as well as more options for pages and such. I am not a technogeek, so both times I have felt the need for a platform that an untrained monkey could figure out. I'm almost there....
If you want to see my two blogs for a comparison:

You may notice I was able to link a separate blog page to the blogger site as well. (Join the journey). This was an added plus for me that helped me make up my mind.

MJ,

Wow! Both these blogs are impressive! I may not have as much creativity (or valuable things to share) for awhile, but it looks like both are great platforms. I like the look of the original blog, but my sense is that you can do a lot more with the current blog, as you said.

Just a little off topic but might give others some ideas, we use Walgreens photo site to make bound books of our logs and pictures. Our sailing friends like to read them over and I must admit they really bring back forgotten memories. Sites like Snapfish, and flicker also provide this service but my wife likes Walgreens because they have good coupons. Go figure.

My wife does something similar with Walmarts online photo shop. She keeps all of the family pics there and the grandparents have access and can print off any pics they like.

MJ,

How did you get the tabs (home, boat, gallery, etc.) to appear in the top of the blog? I've been trying to insert them for over an hour and can't find the technique to do it, and the help section hasn't been great either!)

Thanks!

I'm happy with Blogger. Very easy to start, and lots of options, with a bit of thought.

No, blogger is not a "sailing" site, but it links through search engines very well; often my blog posts are on Google within hours.

See link below.

I put together a blog on blogspot, and now can't seem to access it, yet I can see other people's blogspot blogs. I wonder what I'm doing wrong?
