Not just any Trident hose, only 101 or 102
101/102 are identical except for color...they're both double walled rubber hose that has a biocide in the rubber formula. Not only is it now the most odor permeation resistant hose on the market, but it's also a bit softer than SeaLand OdorSafe, making it easier to work with.
But as with any hose, never heat to bend or force it to bend tighter than it wants to bend willingly...doing so will cause it to kink and/or damage the hose. If you have tight bends, break the hose and use an inline radius fitting.
It's ok to warm the hose a bit to get it onto fittings, just be careful not to overheat it...and use a little dishwashing liquid, or better yet K-Y, to lubricate. Do NOT use any sealant...double clamp all connections, with screws on opposite sides of the hose...or at least 90 degrees apart if access makes 180 impractical.
And btw, warming the old hose will make it a lot easier to get off the fittings (unless some fool has used 5200 on 'em...in which case the fitting is toast too).
These retailers have the best prices I've found:
Blue Water Ship's Store in Foley, AL., at around $6/foot. Ask for Scott and tell him I sent you. Phone is 251.943.4179
Hydraulic Supply co. in FL . Their phone is (800) 432-6413. Someone on a list I subscribe to claims their price was $4.09 per foot.
