Tricks to Changing Waste Deck Plate

Lost cap to Amiot waste deck fill and got a new assembly from Beneteau. I can only pry the old one up around a half inch. Is there any trick besides brute force.

I lost my cap years ago, but bought a replacement cap at a local marine store.
Did you look for a replacement cap?

You did disconnect the hose underneath the deck, right?

That's all I had to do when I replaced mine.

Replacement aluminum caps for Amiot cost $90-. Previous owner bought new setup from Beneteau and sort of used the cap threads were slightly different. The new plate and caps are half the price from Beneteau.

The waste hose has glued itself to the corroding aluminum if you can have someone hold hose from underneath and twist old fill this worked for me this spring.
