I have a lot of difficulty moving the traveller on my 1988 Hunter Legend 40' when under load. Have tried to change out the traveller cars to add blocks with more purchase but there is not enough clearance at the ends of the track to remove. Cannot remove the track without drilling out the screws that attach it. An impact driver and liquid wrench has not helped. Any sugestions will be appreciated.

Ken:

We replaced our traveler on our '85 H'31 after just a couple of years when it was new. We replaced it with a Harken unit. It was a very good upgrade. If I was going to do it again today, my first choice would probably be a new Garhauer unit.

If/when you can get the old one removed you can take the track over to Garhauer and have them drill you a custom track to fit your existing bolt placement. They are located in Upland, CA.

Try some PB blaster, I think that is one of the recommended products for your problem. There is probably corrosion between the stainless steel bolts and the alum. plates that are embedded in the cabin top.
