The world has changed in this area for the worse in the 40 odd years I have been serving customers
We design and build millwork and kitchens and do so in a custom fashion for several hundred clients per year.
Choosing a kitchen design is somewhat subjective. Just like designing the interior of a house. Personal ideas of planned use and esthetics.
But do they actually come into the shop and watch you run the saws/routers/spray booth?
Nothing worse than someone looking over your shoulder. Could even lead to mistakes because you are less focused on the task.
That is the kind of micro managing, real or perceived, that incompetent managers do.
Doesn't matter if the manager is actually giving input, or just continually hovering around.
The owner can follow the truck if he wants to.
The question was whether you SHOULD.. Not if you CAN.
no trucker in his right mind is going to tell the owner "stop following me"
You clearly don't know any of the truckers I know. They would not welcome it, and if they felt they we being micromanaged by someone, even someone who is also a trucker, they definitely would put you in your place. "Do you wanna drive the truck??!! No? OK then.. Go away and let me do my job"
(more than a few would say it a bit more forcefully than that)
I once had a guy walk into the bays to watch a mechanic repair their truck... They were told they had a choice.. Get out of the bay and let the tech do their job or we tow it outside and you can have a wrecker take it to another shop.
Maybe your doctor will let you watch when he does surgery ?
