My traveler is located in front of my companionway, is there any issue with locating it on top of the companionway and has anyone done it. If so what parts do I need to purchase.
My sailing buddie just did this and it works out pretty well. He used a three block arrangement on the boom going to a triple on the track. So far we've had it out in 20mph. It is very well reinforced under the cabin top and I see no problem but I am not an engineer so proceed at your own risk. I am going to do the samew over the winter.
I had a 28.5 3 yrs ago. I wanted to do the same thing. I called Hunter and talked to them. They didn't recommend it, said that the cabintop isn't made for that kind of stress. If you decide to do it (I didn't) proceed at your own risk.Toms/v Orion's Child
