I have been thinking about a traveler on my 26. I found a lot of discussion in the archives, but I couldn't find pictures (perhaps I missed it). Does anyone have a photo of a travler on a 26 or a 260?Thanks,Michael
About a year ago I suggested that I would look at a design for an arch. The design was done but to date I have not had it made.Basically it bolts onto the hull join and picks up the forward part of the stern rail seats. It then slopes slightly towards centre before it reaches the right height just below the boom and extends across the other side and down to the hull join. More than strong enough to handle the sail power of the 260.But as said to date I havn't had the time to get it built.
I would like someone to try that Seriously, I don't like the system as it is now. I think a traveler would help in sail control, and also get it out of the way. I nearly took my sister's head off this weekend as she was moving out of the way of the main sheet. If the traveler was on the companionway it would help (though it still wouldn't be perfect). I guess it would help a little in sail control -- though not as much as it would be with a greater span.
