I have my spring project lined up. Question. Are your travelers bolted down with 4 or 6 bolts?
2 per side or 3 per side ?

I hate drilling holes in my boat. But ------- how many bolts hold the track down with the factory installation?

Detail A in the attached drawing shows four (4) #10-24 bolts per side. I guess it's better to have 8 small holes drilled into your boat than two large holes when the main rips the traveller off the boat in a gust!!!

Looks like I will put in 6, 3 per side. Hole spacing is 4" on centers ( 10cm. ). I'll probably put a strip of 1/8" x 1" aluminum underneath to spread the stresses.. Hardware is Harken, 1.2m track.

Thanks for the feedback.

Note that a wedge may be needed between the traveler and the cockpit seat as it angles away from the center of the boat. My 1985 has white plastic wedges that run the entire 'over-the-seat' sections on each side.
