TRAVELER UPGRADE

I wanted to eliminate the friction that was being caused by the part of the cam cleat that captures the traveler line. So I removed that part, and mounted a Harken block under the cam. The line is still captured, and it's much easier to release and move the mainsheet from side to side. Just make sure the new mounted block has enough clearance so it does not interfere with the cam operation. Sorry I didn't note the name/size of the block, but it was an obvious match when I shoped for one. Yes, the label is on the boat for new crew members, as are the labels for the clutches, etc.

When you have a chance, can you share the part number (or link) for that block?

Just to confirm, you replaced the factory installed cam cleat and installed two things, a new block and a new cleat, right?

No, I just removed the part that bridged the cam cleat, and added the Harken block below it. Just make sure the new mounted block has enough clearance so it does not interfere with the cam operation. Also, be careful not to let the ball bearings fall out of the cams when you take the screw out.
