The traveler on my 1984 25.5 will slip under load due to the fact that one of the spring loaded pins will not stay seated in the corresponding hole on the track. I would like to replace the traveler so that it won't slip and I can adjust it under load (which I cannot do with the factory installed traveler). I have researched a Harken traveler but it will require me to replace the track as well. Does anyone know of another traveler manufacturer that I could purchase but will use the existing track. I thought I had found one on the web once but did not bookmark the page and now I cannot find it. Thanks Ken

If you can scrape up some extra cash, the Harken windward sheeting traveler car will spoil you for anything else. Other than new sails, nothing I put on my boat resulted in such an improvement in her performance. It doesn't make the boat go faster, it just makes the traveler so easy to use that you find you use it much more than before, especially when dealing with hard puffs. I had to change tracks to match it, but have not been sorry for spending the money.

Ken, If you are considering the Harken windward sheeting system. I have one with a four track gathering dust in the garage. 512-346-2093

I don't know of any 25.5s with the original traveller. All I've seen have upgraded travellers. I think we have a Schaefer on our 25.5. Boat is under a tarp for the next few weeks. The track installed over the old one. Works great.
