I am going to replace my dodger this spring. On my current dodger you lift up a flap and reach under to access the traveler cam cleats which are located at the ends of the traveler. It works ok but I really wanted to move my cam cleats under the dodger all the way aft on the cabin top. This is not as easy as it appears due the the location of the winches and rope clutches. I would have to put a fairlead to direct the line between the rope clutch. From there it would make about a 15-20 deg. turn to the cam cleat which I would place outboard of the cabin top winches. I think this would work but it looks kind of funky. Additionally, there will be a chafe point as the line will drag on the base of where the old cam cleats were fastened. Another option I have seen on boats is to slot the windshield for the traveller lines. I'm really interested in how other Catalina 36 Mark II owners route their traveler lines through their dodgers. Also interested in what other boaters have done too. Thanks for the help.
