I purchased an O’Day 23, 2 years ago. I have owned several other sailboats (still have an O’Day DS I) and have several years of sailing experience. I want to change the "standard" main sheet attachment on the 23. The factory version terminates in a triangle fitting, which is also part of the back stay attachment to the hull. This causes the trim of the boom to move "in" when you need it to move "down". This design is poor. The boat needs a traveler so that trim can be in the correct direction.I could work this out by some trial and error but it is likely that some of you have already "fixed" this problem. I would like to know of anyone who has already developed a satisfactory rig for a traveler. Pictures and advice appreciated.Dave
