I am due to take delivery of my new 260 later this mounth. Having sailed a number of 280's I am not satisfied with the mainsheet attachment to the deck which will be located in front of the wheel pedestal. I am thinking of putting a traveler over the companionway (elevated) to allow better control of the boom. I have checked with Hunter and Harken to see if either have recommendations as to mounting, etc. Neither can give me a previous mounting configuration. Since I doubt that I am the first 260 owner that has researched this topic all I can find is one thread that shows a travaler mounting on the deck just ahead of the companionway hatch. Looking for any suggestions or input as to whether this a doable and/or worth the effort?
