Traveler End Stops

The end stops for the traveler track have crumbled and I have not been able to find a replacement. For a 87 Hunter Legend (37'), has anyone had the same problem and did you find replacement parts?

What brand?

Jim:I think that Hunter was using Ronstan gear during those years. You might check with Hunter if you cannot find the brand. We ended up just changing the traveler to a Harken. The will custom drill a new track to match the old one so it is a fairly simple upgrade.

Must be planned obsolesence...

I have the same boat with the same problem. However, I looks like I can't just unbolt the stop and slide it out. Apparently, it's just a bit too close the sides to slide it out and replace. Looks like I would have to remove the traveler track, with stops, replace & rebed. Or possibly crumble the crumbled stops a bit further and replace. I'm trying to avoid removing the whole thing but other spring commissioning items have more priority and I may not act on it if it turns out to be a traveler remove job. I am not at the boat but I think the traveler system is Schaffer but I'd have to verify. I'd be interested to find out what come up with. Traveler Ends

I have a 1988 Legend 37 that was build in 1987. It has a Schaefer traveler which also has broken ends. I have spoken today with Schaefer's director of engineering who is a friend. He said that there are two types of ends used at that time frame. He will be faxing me the part numbers for each. Depending on when your boat was manufactured would be the determinate as to which part you would need.Once I get his fax I will post that info to this question.
