Before I'd put up the money for transport, if you have the time,you should be able to make Dana in one long day and Long Beach easily the next. If you can't make the trip, do you have friends who could do it for expenses? The idea of unstepping the mast and a haul and launch plus transportation expense seems unreasonable given the less than 90 mile motorsail. I'd explore other alternatives first, but if you have already done that, I'd check in the Log newspaper which carries several transportation ads and maybe someone on this board can help out. I know a guy could bring that boat up for you, made that run many, many times in his own Catalina, but know that he is not licensed, and insurance will give you a hard time in the unlikely event...Let me know, I'll provide a number.
I just need someone to bring it into Dana Point. I have the time to bring it into Long Beach from there. Larry, sure if you have that guy's number I'll give him a buzz. My dad actually hired a 23 yr old kid to do it last Saturday and ended in disaster! We're willing to go half now and the other half when the boat comes in safe and sound in Dana Point. Thanks
