Transom vents on Beneteau 373

Both of my B373 transom vents' finish is breaking down with the discoloration you can see in the photo. (They are the larger about 6" x 6" vents) Has anyone had this happen? Need advice for how to refinish them or finding replacements. I could not find these parts on the Beneteau parts site.

The discoloration appears to be typical UV degradation of the base plastic. They may be degrading structurally as well. The best remedy other than purchasing new vents would be to strip the remainder of the existing paint by sanding and recoat with the Krylon product that is designed to bond to plastic. Others on this forum may have better ideas as well

I recently replaced all of my external vinyl vents, covers, etc. with SS units. Look much better and will last longer than the boat with NO maintenance.

You can look here in the SBO store or do a search on line for your vents.

I was able to find the vents on the Beneteau parts website. $250 EACH!! I was unsuccessful finding an aftermarket source for the vents. Ralph, what was your source for your SS vents? No luck finding anything on SBO store either.

I purchased one from here, several others from Defender, and a few others from obscure locations in the outback. Whoever had the cheapest prices at the time.

Your transom vent just MAY be custom made for Beny which will present a problem. Searching the web for "marine air vents" may find you something close enough to adapt to your needs. Check under Scirocco, Vetus, Sea Dog, and Attwood amongst other manufacturers.

Just part of the frustration of owning a boat (and being held ransom by boat manufacturers).

I took them and the cowling vent covers on the coach roof, cause they will discolor too to an auto body shop and got them repainted. Look like new.

Î am old"....they may not make it anymore. A marine plastic white coating. But I would think a white plastic paint would work.
