I'm getting ready to install a new stainless exhaust flapper and would like to know from those who have done this before. How thick is the transom? Type of sealant? Through bolt or screws? Thanks!
About 1/2 inch -- just did the replacement with a flapper from catalina direct. Used screws and 3M 5200. The hardest part was getting the old fitting out. I installed one of the 6" screw in deck plates right above the fitting in the back locker. For $10 it sure made life easier.
