Thanks everyone. I pulled the seats and took them home, removed the slats, sanded, carefully, and used the Helmsman Spar Polly and reattached everything. I now see some dark spots where the screws have popped through that i did not see before, but they were there but all of the wood just looked bad. i suspect i'll bring them home again at the end of each season, lightly sand and re-poly them to get ready forthe following season. The pride of them looking great is preventing me from using starboard poly instead of wood. Maybe I'll change my mind in 2-3 years.
