My boat will be hauled this winter, in Maryland. The transom really needs a complete gelcoat replacement; there are multiple chips and cracks. It's a sloped transom, which makes it either easier or harder, depending on your point of view. Any suggestions on where to begin?

working with gelcoat

Buy alot of sand paper! The surface will need to be well sanded before applying the gelcoat, and once applied you'll need to sand as much as necessary, through 1000 grit or higher followed by buffing and polishing, to get the finish to match the factory finish. Be sure to use a non-air inhibited gelcoat. You can contact Mini-Craft of Florida 800-282-8244 who blends custom color matched gelcoats for repairs.
