Thrust Washers...
Linkage problems are very common on Hurth marine gears, so check and adjust your linkage first. This is the only "adjustment". Slow or difficult engagement, from Neutral to Forward, usually indicates wear in the Thrust Washers. The gear will likely require service or replacement. It's usually recommend that you also change the damper plate at this time. Damper Plates resemble a small spring loaded clutch, and are installed on the engine's flywheel in front of the gear. To function well all the damper plate springs should be in place, tight and not loose or rattling. HTH, Gord
