My transmission has a stamp on the housing that says R12563 JFC in it and it is connected to a Walter v drive. It was connected to a westerbeke on CS36. Does anyone know much about it

there should be a tag on the trans somewhere with a brand name on it... and if yo ucant find the tag, what size/model is the engine? this could give a clue as to what it is.

A google search with that number came back with a Paragon transmisson in a couple of threads:

I also did a Google search but the transmission that came up with that stamp number was for a transmission in a car the info for paragon that came up was nonspecific. There was no ID plate that I could find. The boat had a westerbeke 33 with aV drive. Now there is a Yanmar 3jh4e withWalter v drive. The previous owner did the engine swop and I cannot reach him.
