transmission leak? 2gm

I put some oil in the transmission fill cap and now I have new oil leaking out on the starboard side near the linkage. It is fresh (clean) oil. Any ideas about cause or fix. Is it possibe I overfilled? Hawaii Dan Illusions

Possible to over-fill

Reading the level on the dip-stick can be tricky. To get an accurate reading, the cap must be screwed in all the way. The mark at the bottom of the dip-stick is the full mark. If you have added oil above that mark, you have added too much.Ken Palmer, S/V Liberty

Doesn't take much

If I recall, my manual says that the volume is around a pint ...... surprisingly very little. If you need it, I can get you the exact amount.

cHECK THE GASKET UNDER THE FILL CAP AND IF CROSS THREADED. DO NOT OVERFILL, CHECK THE FILL MARK CAREFULLY
