The survey I'm reading does not have the Kanzaki transmission model code on it. It has the serial number - 37090 and it's a Yanmar 2GM20F engine. I need the model code to look at fluids, etc. Hunter Marine and Mastri engines have not been able to help, although they tried. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, Landsend is right. And I'm running Castrol Fleet Diesel in both. But, the previous two owners must have been running ATF in it, because after I got it home it was red when I got around to checking it. Changed it twice and got all the "red out". 1000 miles later, seems no harm done... 40 sae diesel oil will probably make it last forever....

30wt motor oil
Bruce: Our 2GM20F used 30wt motor oil. It would be nice if they standardized on one type of oil, but that is not the way they do it. My 3JH2E uses ATF in the tranny.

Our H320 with a 2GM20F came from the dealer
with ATF in the tranny. After having to repeatedly add lubricant we asked the dealer to confirm the proper lubricant and were informed that it was ATF. I got a hold of a manual which recommended 30W oil and decided to replace the lubricant. I filled it up with synthetic 30W motor oil and it has been running fine for the past three years and has not consumed a drop.

My Yanmar manual is very clear about recommending 30W for use in reduction/reversing gear of 1GM and 2GM models while specifying ATF types in 3GM and 3HM models.
