Catalina 27 Portsmouth
We recently purchased a 1977 Catalina 27 with a Westerbeke W13 diesel engine. The transmission and throttle controls are 2 separate levers, located in the cockpit. There is a long lever with a black knob aft, that is currently hooked up to the throttle and a shorter lever with a red knob locate forward of that that seems to be connected to the transmission through a Marmac 1093-D2 controller. The cable on this is frozen as well as the knob on the handle.

My guess is that this system is a jury-rig by a prior owner. Not sure how to make this right. Does anyone have pictures, diagrams, or any information that will help us set this up properly?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard.
Black knob usually is for the transmission, red for the throttle. Disconnect both cables from engine, if they are still frozen replace them or the controller. Most likely it is the cables.
Good luck with your new boat. You can learn a lot here just by using the search engine.

Agree with njlarry... short lever is the throttle. If cables are stiff you might be able to lube them but best would probably be replacement.
