Has anyone replaced their forward hatch cover with a translucent one made of smoked plexiglass, like the main companionway cover? Seems like a nice idea to allow light below in the day and to light the foredeck at night. I'm thinking of cutting out a square in the middle of mine and gluing in a piece of said 'glass. Any thoughts?

Mike, "bright idea" but...

you might be better off to fiberglass the "window" into the old hatch cover rather than glue it. Or.... make a mold and build your own from scratch and then sell them to all the boats that use that same size cover. Good idea, good luck. Ray

Hatch for 23

Mike, I also wanted to do this, but was considering cutting the dang thing out completely and installing a hatch from the WM catalog. My hatch is a pain in the A@#@!#$ to open and close. Always binds. Is this normal? Scott H23 "No Alibi"

Don't know the deck arrangement but....

you should check out the Thrify Mariner. They have great deals on second and overstocked hatches.

mine too

yes, mine sticks too........I've filed down the edges to help with this. Does WM have translucent hatch covers to fit the H23? I wonder if Hunter has them?
