Steve; I'm glad you liked my book. Your question is an interesting one, and it came up a couple of months ago early in the forum. Unfortunately, I've never sailed on a boat with your kind of a rig but that is about to change. I conduct sail trim seminars in So Ca and completed one at Shoreline YC in Long Beach on 10/7. The seminars are 3 hours long and deal with every aspect of sail trim. In the 10/7 group of over 40 people (30 were turned away because of space limitations), there were 2 Hunter owners with rigs like yours. They have invited me to sail with them in the next two week so I can get some experience with the BandR rig. More info will follow after the sail. Actually, I don't think it is any more complicated than a fractional or masthead rig. All your missing is the mast bend adjustment, which is pretty important sailing closehauled, as bending the mast takes belly out of the sail.
