Ran into a problem while replacing old "DM" ducers and instrmnts. Using newer RayM "LOW-PROFILE" ST60's. There isn't enough clearence for floorboards to be placed bk down. The new ducers stick up too high! Aside from drilling and filling, any ideas? I thought I read somewhere in the aechive where someone else had same issue, but after search, can't find. Thanx Grfg8r

Ours fit okay under the floorboard by companionway

I'll try to get a photo of it.

Transducer Issue

MB & R, Then I take it you had to drill new holes and fill the old ones? Mine came frm factory ahead of keel, where it should be.

Bend metal rod

If you're replacing the transducers with the same version, you need to bend over the thin metal rod on the top. This rod allows you to wrap your fingers around the transducer and pull it from the slot in the hull. However, this rod is too high to allow the floor panel to lie flat. My factory installed originals were bent over, which provided just enough room for the floor panel to rest flat, so I bent the new one over accordingly.

Re: 'Ducer Replacement Issue

Scott, Mine are just too tall w/out the metal ring. They say "low profile" on the box. Now I see Airmar-RayM makes a "SHORTY" version of them, but I don't know if they're compatable w/ ST 60's?
