As there was only three of us on the boat, it was going to be a training day. But we decided to enter the final day of the Winter Regatta and race/train. And race we did, just missing third in the overall series by a point! Highlight was the last race of the day; the final downwind in 18 knots. 12 knots boatspeed straight at the finish!

Got tons of vid on the GoPros, but an app on my phone makes movies automagically from pics and clips.

NICE! Looks like you did some damage to the rest of the fleet.
Is that a inverted boom vang? I've never seen one like that before. What happens on the opposite tack? Does it get repositioned to the other side of the sail?

The device is a GNAV, or backwards vang. Get it?? ;^)

It's popular on HP boats in the 20-25 foot range. The X-Treme 25 is about as big as a boat I'd want one on. It says on one side, and yes it messes (a bit) with sail shape. But these boats are so powered up (upwind SA/D ratio of over 35) that it matters not!

And yes in a breeze we can put a big hurt on the fleet. But that's were we HAVE to make our money..... upwind we're just another 25 footer... but one that has a faster rating than the Olson 30 we sail against!

Nice! we always enjoy these little mini vids.
Yea it's a fun app. Just select the images and vids and press GO. Much more fun; 98% of our un-edited GoPro vid is totally boring to watch.

I think half the videos will be blotted out by the spinnaker. It's a big one.
