Gotta replace my trailor bunks as one is collapsed. I have a galvanized trailor and not sure what model (I'll check tonight and reply tomorrow). But do know the bunks look like treated 16' 2" x 8" with the carpet. Now... how are they bent to shape? Is there a method or does one purchase them pre-bent? I search archives but couldn't fine similar topic (if I misssearched, forgive me). Thanks! Oh yeah, 84 cat 22 swing keel.

Bunkers

Replaced mine on the old trailer. Used pressure treated, ground contact 2x6's. I purchased the 8 footers and cut them a little longer. Then I bolted the aft portion first and then the forward one using the old "bent" ones for templates. Had to have my large neighbor lend me some "buttage" in order to make the forward hole line up. I then bolted the middle one down to the riser but left the riser loose on the trailer. (Not an option with my new one.) Was very easy and to looking back at it I could have done the whole thing as is probably with out my neighbors buttage. When I retrieved the boat, I bolted the middle one to the frame... and done.

Sit on it . . .

The span from front to back is about 11 feet. So, you can easily apply some weight to the middle of the bunk to attach the middle. No need to pre-bend. When I re-built my trailer last year, I happened to have a few bags of cement lying around, so I used those to apply the weight. Loosely attach the ends first; then weight down the middle and fasten. Then tighten the ends. Regards, Ted
