I have a 4 HP motor with my Hunter 216. Is it recommended to trailer the boat with the motor attached on the back on the motor mount (just like you would for using the motor)? Or is it recommended to have the motor not attached on the back on the boat for trailering?

Motor on the boat

That's a good strong bracket and that motor doesn't weigh much so we trailer ours with it in the operating position and have had no problems so far.

Best way?

I think its always best to remove the motor. Thinak about the leverage on that bracket when you hit a bump. But, life is a gamble...you might be OK.

Trailering with a 9.9

I trailer all the time with a Nissan 9.9 in the down position. I have experienced no problems at all. I have chatted with a V.P. of the Hunter Trailerables line and, unofficially, the mount is strong enough to carry a 25 hp motor.
