I'm trailing my '94 23.5 Hunter about 250 miles. for storage. Past years I removed the motor before driving the distance. This year with a new 4-cycle on it at about 100 pounds, I was thinking of leaving it on for the trip. Will it cause any damage to the boat?

You can buy a crutch that transfers the weight of the lower end of the outboard directly to the trailer. I used to have one back in my trailer-boat days, but can't remember the name of the manufacturer. Handy device. Someone who sells trailers should be able to steer you in the right direction.

For 250 Miles No, 500 Yes
I am guessing you will be returning in the spring and not using the motor in the mean time. I would take it off and take it home for the winter not just for the weather but to make sure it does not sprout legs and take off on it's own.

Heavy Motor is a problem
I had a 75 lb. 8 HP on a 22 ft' boat. It had to be off, or it would bend the motor mount on bumpy roads.
