Ray, I appreciate your response, however, the launch ramps at Cave Run Lake do no not come with docks at the ramp. Life would be simple if they did. The facilities were designed with power boaters in mind. At the two ramps we use, there are good sized rocks that line the shore and embankment to prevent erosion. Trying to walk the 240 over from a small pick up dock to the trailer is not an easy task. Bob Kalisz Alrightie Then

Bob, Does your trailer have the two rear

upright posts that are about 5 feet tall. These came with my Hunter trailer and help keep the back of the boat guided and under control while loading or winching it up. When loaded my boat only had about 2 inches clearance from the posts but, as they are padded there is no rubbing problem. They really help loading. Also, the problem with the boat not staying snugged up to the v-pad seams to be caused by the raising and lowering of the bow. It's raised and tight while floating, but when I pull it out it drops and causes the gap. Tomorrow I'm going to look into welding a bracket with a roller assembly, like many of the other power boat trailer set-ups have, to the bow portion of the trailer. This will be approx. 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher than the bottom of the boat bow vee as the boat sits now on the trailer. My boat finally slid up to the v-block on the trip home, sooo.., if the roller will keep the bow up on pull-out, and take very little boat weight (because of the low mount position of the roller) then this should take care of the problem. I'll post the results. Ray S/V Speedy

Ray, I had the same problem, snugging the boat to the trailer. While I was able to adjust it a little with the winch and some quick stops, there seemed to be a lot of strain on the strap. A little down hill driving, like the entrance to the Interstate helps snug it up. Look forward to hearing how your fix works. Yes, I do have the trailer guides. The goal posts give you something to aim at from way back in the boat. Bob Alrightie Then

Painter

A friend taught me (a long time ago) to use a very long painter. (That's a 100' line that I attach to the front hook) I use it to launch
