I have just purchased a 1974 Catalina 27 and would like to take it home over the winter to work on it. Has anyone trailered a Cat 27, and did you have the boat lifted out of the water or did you float it onto the trailer if that is even possible? There is no travel lift facility at our marina s it would mean hiring a crane.

Also check the size of the beam, most states have a limit for private trailering, in NC it's 8 ft. after that you need comercial haulers and permits etc. Alan

thanks Alan

thanks Alan, had oerlooked that. I think the max width here in BC Canada is 8 ft also. I will have to double check.

You're awsome, thankyou

EG thanks so much for your information. Any chance you would share or sell me a copy of your trailer design? I think this type of trailer would work well at Harrison Lake while the water is high. Fair winds rookiecruiser
